“Wisconsin closed” was posted on
Adrianna’s Facebook after the BIG snowstorm December 20. Well, Mexico is “open.” In Mendez, our team was praying for contacts
as we walked to the town square. We were
found by someone looking for us. The man
was the town doctor and pharmacist. He
told us how the youth in town were lacking in virtue, direction, and solid
Bible teaching. Besides offering us a
place to stay when we returned to Mendez, he also served us great coffee with
“cow’s milk.” Please pray that God would give us wisdom as we return to Mendez
and the surrounding towns.
Mexico is one of two initial focus areas
of To Every Tribe Ministries. Because of the great need of Jesus Christ that
still exists in southern Mexico, To Every Tribe will be sending its first Field
Director to Oaxaca next month. A number
of TET graduates are already in language school there with plans to
establish church-planting teams. Here at
the Center for Pioneer Church Planting (TET’s mission training center), we had the
privilege of listening to and learning from Vern and Carla Sterk , missionaries
to the unreached people of southern Mexico for 40 years. Guest speakers like the Sterks, with their
seasoned experience and wisdom, are an integral part of our training.
A typical week at the CPCP consists of
daily classes. In January, Dr. David
Sills will be teaching on contextualization.
The following week, author Jerry Bridges will be presenting the
“Dynamics of Spiritual Formation.” For
an hour every Monday, interns meet in mentoring groups. On Tuesday mornings before lunch, all
families gather for campus-wide worship.
Wednesday includes CPCP prayer groups, and Thursday we gather for
Ecclesia church groups. Friday afternoon
is a time for the women to meet for Bible study. The second week of every month consists of
mission trips into Mexico. Interns are
currently working in four different villages, sharing the gospel and developing
relationships with the local people.
Our children are thankful for the many new friends they have made here and at our church home, Divine Providence. Opportunities for individual and family growth are before us every day. Living in community is a great sanctifier!

We
are so thankful for all of you who partner with us and keep in touch with words
of encouragement. Your prayers and gifts
cause us to praise God for His faithfulness to us. Thank you! May the Lord continue to bless you during this
Christmas season as we remember the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ, already
promised in Genesis 3:15 as the seed.
This promise was sealed on the cross.
Now the Lord is seated on the throne for us, the best is yet to come; HOME!
